A Quick and Simple Italian Chicken Marinara Recipe

 
 
This is a tasty Italian chicken recipe and can be ready within fifteen minutes. Bell peppers and marinara sauce are used for an authentic taste of Italy and this chicken marinara is sure to become a firm favorite. The word marinara is derived from the word "marinero" meaning "of the sea". Marinara sauce is made from tomatoes, onions and a delicious blend of Italian herbs.

Marinara sauce was frequently eaten on sailing ships before modern refrigeration techniques were developed and used. A lot of people mistakenly think this sauce contains seafood because of the name. Spaghetti is used in this chicken marinara recipe and goes very well with the tomato based sauce and the green and red bell peppers.

 

Easy Chicken Marinara Recipe

 
 
Ingredients -
 
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast halves (about 3/4 lb.), cut into bite size pieces
1 Green Pepper, cut into large chunks
1 Red Pepper, cut into large chunks
1 package (15 ounces) Your Favorite Marinara Sauce
1 package (9 ounces) Spinach Fettuccine, cooked, drained
 
Preparation:
 

Heat oil in skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken and pepper; cook and stir 3 minutes.

Stir in sauce. Cook on medium heat 3 to 5 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Serve over hot spaghetti. Top with your favorite shredded parmesan cheese, if desired and black pepper to personal taste.
