Forget the dance, two step in this recipe has more to do with how easy it is to prepare! Sugar, mustard and picante sauce are used to make this tasty Texas chicken recipe and it only needs to bake for twenty minutes.

Chicken sauce picante is popular in boneless chicken recipes and this one can be served with mashed potatoes or French fries and vegetables or a fresh green salad. Picante sauce is hot and spicy and usually tomato based. "Picante" means "pepper hot" and this sauce is used in many boneless chicken recipes, as well as other meat, fish and vegetable dishes.

 

Texas Two Step Chicken

 
 
Ingredients -
 
1 1/2 cup Picante Sauce
3 tablespoons Packed Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon-Style Mustard
4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
 
Preparation:
 

Preheat oven to 400° F.

Mix picante sauce, sugar and mustard. Place chicken in a 2 quart shallow baking dish. Pour picante sauce mixture over chicken. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until chicken is done.

Alternatively you can take the chicken out for the last five minutes and grill it to give a nice grilled flavor also. Retain the sauce though.
