This is a quick and easy baked chicken recipe. Tarragon, mustard, and sour cream combine perfectly to give a delicious chicken coating and sauce. Tarragon, also called dragon's wort or dragon herb, has a sweet, aromatic anise flavor. French tarragon is very rich and Russian tarragon is slightly milder. Use whichever type is available in your grocery store.
If you are looking for a tarragon roasted chicken recipe, this one has all the richness and flavor you will want. Country chicken with tarragon is a popular dish and is great served on a bed of white rice with a glass of dry white wine. You might like to serve this dish with some broccoli or pan fried slices of zucchini on the side. This makes it healthier although it is already quite a nutritionally balanced recipe. Boneless chicken is naturally lean, which is what makes it healthy. This leanness however also means you have to keep a close eye on chicken while it cooks. Because it has very little fat or connective tissue, it can go from perfectly cooked to dried out within a few minutes. As soon as the juices run clear and the chicken is white through it is ready to serve.
Although this country chicken recipe features just five ingredients, as well as salt and pepper, the end flavor is very well balanced. Tarragon, sour cream, wine and mustard are all you need to flavor the boneless chicken perfectly and this tarragon roasted chicken recipe is great whether you are cooking for the family or if you have guests coming over. It is a simple dish yet it features everything a gourmet dish would.
